If we’re being honest, the iPhone we’re most looking forward to this year has to be the iPhone 17 Air. Sure, it might not pack the same punch as the Pro models or be as cheap as the base model, but its new ultra-thin form factor is exciting. Now, a new hands-on video shared by tipster Majin Bu Official has revealed what the Sky Blue finish of the iPhone 17 Air could look like in real life.

Hands-on video of iPhone 17 Air in Sky Blue

We already know what colors the iPhone 17 Air will be offered in, and Sky Blue is one of them and this video shows what it might look like in person. The video also compares it against what looks like the iPhone 16 Pro. When compared side-by-side, the iPhone 17 Air’s thinness is truly breathtaking.

Also, the Sky Blue finish is quite nice, offering a pastel-like blue which is kind of pleasant to look at. Apple isn’t alone in competing in the ultra-thin space. Samsung beat Apple to the punch with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. However, it could beat Samsung in terms of thinness, with the iPhone 17 Air rumored to measure 5.5mm thin versus the Galaxy S25 Edge’s 5.8mm.

But whether or not the difference is noticeable in real-life remains to be seen. Either way, if you’re shopping for an ultra-thin smartphone, this could be it.

Thinness at a compromise

Now, in order to get the iPhone 17 Air super thin, Apple naturally had to make some sacrifices. One of them is the camera. According to the rumors, and as evidenced in the video, the Air only features a single camera setup. Even the base iPhone comes with a dual camera setup.

Also, there are rumors that the graphics of the iPhone 17 Air won’t be as powerful as its GPU will feature one less core. However, it isn’t all bad news. We’ve heard that Apple could equip it with the A19 Pro and 12GB of RAM. For context, this is the same chipset and RAM configuration as the Pro and Pro Max models.

Battery is also expected to be kind of trash. Apple had to shrink the battery considerably to get it to fit, so we wouldn’t be surprised if battery life took a hit in the process. Apple will most likely announce its new iPhones in September, so check back with us then for updates.
