Samsung’s Savage Tri-Fold Foldable Surfaces — And It’ll Cost Around $3,000

Thanks to One UI 8, we can get a first look at Samsung’s first tri-fold smartphone, or so it seems. This information comes from Android Authority, as both images and a video of the phone were published.
Samsung’s very first tri-fold handset has just surfaced with a sky-high price tag
The thing is, these are only sketches of a phone, kind of. They don’t show us finished renders or a live image of the phone. These sketches were pulled from animation files from within the latest One UI 8 build. You can check both the images and the video below.
As you can see, it will feature two inward-folding hinges and will thus be referred to as a G-shaped fold. This differs from an S-shaped fold, which is the Huawei Mate XT, the world’s first tri-fold smartphone.
The possible name for this device from Samsung could be the Galaxy G Fold. Unfortunately, the provided video does not show the device folding. All we can see is its front and back sides when it’s fully unfolded.
It will have a 10-inch display, Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, and cost an arm and a leg
In addition to that, some additional information surfaced regarding the device’s price. A report from Korea claims that the phone will have an extravagant price point, a massive screen, a state-of-the-art chip, and more.
A 10-inch display is expected to be used by the so-called Galaxy G Fold. It will compete with a 10.2-inch panel on the Huawei Mate XT. The Snapdragon 8 Elite is said to fuel the phone, which is not exactly a surprise.
The phone will cost the equivalent of $3,000 in Korea, or thereabouts. So, it will cost twice as much as the Galaxy Z Fold 6, for example. This phone is also expected to be available only in Korea and China.
