Google‘s latest true wireless earbuds, the Pixel Buds Pro 2, are seemingly getting a successor with the newly rumored Pixel Buds 2a, and a full suite of colors for them has just leaked. It’s also worth noting that it’s unclear if Google will officially launch these new earbuds, as this is still a rumor. That uncertainty extends to “Pixel Buds 2a” being the official name. However, the rumor comes from @MysteryLupin on X, which tends to be accurate with their leaks. So, there’s a good chance that this information is spot on.
The Pixel Buds A-series is Google’s way of delivering a high-quality true wireless earbud at a lower price point. Not too unlike what Samsung has done with its Galaxy Buds FE, and what it’s doing with the recently-launched Galaxy Buds Core. When Google launched the Pixel Buds A-series a few years ago, it did so at a fraction of the cost of the Pixel Buds Pro, though this did mean a lack of certain features. Users can expect the same thing to happen with the Pixel Buds 2a.
Leaked Pixel Buds 2a information says the earbuds will come in four colors
The number of colors available shouldn’t be a surprise, as Google tends to stick to four colors for its earbuds and has for the last few pairs. This includes the currently available Pixel Buds Pro 2 and the original Pixel Buds A-series earbuds. With the Pixel Buds 2a, @MysteryLupin says there will be four colors available.
This includes Strawberry, Iris, Hazel, and Fog Light. Based on the color names, we can make educated guesses as to what the actual colors will look like. Hazel is probably going to be similar to the hazel color Google offers on the Pixel Buds Pro 2. They won’t necessarily be the exact same, but they shouldn’t be that different either. Strawberry is probably going to be more like red or pink, while Fog Light is likely to be similar to white or off-white, and Iris sounds like it could be a purple or blue color. Of course, this is all speculative at the moment.
One thing to keep in mind, however, is that Iris is also rumored to be one of the new Pixel 10 colors. Google loves to match the colors of its devices. So this is a little more evidence that the rumor is potentially accurate.
