And now, before any brand even thinks of entering the race, the Chinese tech behemoth is ready to launch its Huawei Mate XT 2 device in September.

Huawei Mate XT 2 might launch at the same time as the iPhone 17 series

One of the tipsters on Weibo, named Fixed Focus Digital, has shared information about the launch timeline of the successor of the Mate XT. According to the source, the company will debut its second-generation tri-fold device, the Huawei Mate XT 2, on September 10, 2025. The predecessor was launched on the same date last year.

Coincidentally, Apple is also going to launch its iPhone 17 series on either September 9 or 10. At least that’s what the leaks suggest. Huawei has been attempting to rival Apple, and the competition between the two tech companies is real. Whether Huawei intentionally chose a launch date close to Apple’s or it’s purely a coincidence remains a mystery.

The launch could become a showdown for tech fans

If the leaked launch date is going to be correct, it’s not going to be less than any showdown for the tech fans. On one side, it will be Huawei launching its new tri-fold in the market, and on the other side, it’s Apple with the iPhone 17 series. And this time, Apple is also bringing some noteworthy upgrades to its product, which makes us equally excited for the product.

For the specifications, there are literally no words on it yet.
