The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is available in only two colors: Obsidian and Porcelain. The company offers a more limited variety of colors for its latest foldable device compared to traditional Pixel phones.

The Mountain View’s giant chose two colors that are quite familiar to fans of the series. ‘Obsidian’ is Google’s take on black, offering a grayish finish similar to graphite. On the other hand, the ‘Porcelain’ variant features a rather elegant soft gold finish. Both versions have a dual-tone design where the frame has a distinct hue (lighter in Obsidian, darker in Porcelain).

Unfortunately for fans of bold colors, options like green or pink are not available for the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Perhaps the company will be willing to offer a wider variety of finishes in upcoming models.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s specs also impress

It’s not all about colors on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Google’s latest entry into the premium foldable market is impressive in several key aspects. At its core, you’re treated to a truly immersive visual experience thanks to its 8-inch Super Actua Flex (LTPO OLED) inner display. This panel not only boasts of adaptive 1-120Hz refresh rate but also incredible peak brightness (2,700 nits). When folded, the crisp 6.3-inch Actua OLED cover display provides a familiar and equally vibrant smartphone experience.

Powering this phone is the Google Tensor G4 chip. This chipset, coupled with a robust 16GB of RAM and ample storage options up to 512GB, ensures buttery-smooth performance across all apps. The massive RAM available not only guarantees smooth multitasking but also access to all of Google’s AI features. The device truly shines in its deep Gemini AI integration. You’ll find features like Gemini Live for real-time conversations, smart photo organization with Pixel Screenshots, and the ability to generate images with Pixel Studio.

For photography enthusiasts, the versatile triple rear camera system is a significant highlight. It features a 48MP main sensor, a 10.5MP ultrawide lens—with macro capabilities—and a 10.8MP 5x optical telephoto lens. A substantial 4,650 mAh battery with support for 21W wired charging (7.5W wireless) keeps the lights on.

The device is also built with a durable aluminum frame, Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and an IPX8 water resistance rating. We found in our Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold review that this is a pretty sleek upgrade over the original.
