TL;DR
- Android’s Find My Device is now Find Hub.
- Google is partnering with select airlines to integrate Find Hub sharing so it’s easier to recover lost luggage.
- This feature will roll out beginning early next year.
For many people, one of the most useful mobile accessories that came out in the past decade has been Bluetooth item trackers. We’ve all been there – we misplace something, or think it’s lost completely. If it had an item tracker on it, then finding it is a breeze. Now, Google is taking its Find My Device service to a whole new level after many years.

The Find My Device service on Android is going a step further as Google transforms it into the Find Hub. Instead of just focusing on your device, Find Hub is the place to go when you need to find your important items, family and friends, and even a growing list of partners working with Google on Find Hub integration.
One of the biggest partnerships is going to be with select airlines. This means that you’ll be able to share your Bluetooth item tracking tag’s location with these airlines, which should greatly improve the luggage recovery process if your stuff gets lost. In a perfect world, that shouldn’t happen, but in case it does, this feature should give you some peace of mind. Google’s getting started with the following:
- Aer Lingus
- British Airways
- Cathay Pacific
- Iberia
- Singapore Airlines
But don’t expect this partnership to happen immediately. The rollout for Find Hub’s sharing with airlines will begin early next year, and these are the only airlines that have partnered with Google so far.

The airline partnerships is the headliner feature of Find Hub, but there are some other additions too. Google is partnering with brands like July, Mokabara, and Peak for Find Hub integration built-in to luggage and ski products, and Pixbee will have Disney-themed tags. There will also be precision finding capabilities for tags with ultra-wide band, like Moto Tag, and satellite connectivity is also coming later this year.
Again, Bluetooth item trackers are one of the best little accessories that have come out in the past decade. Everyone should have at least one (or five) for their most important items, like keys. And with these new partnerships, it’s great to see Find Hub become even more useful than it already was.
