If you’re an AT&T customer and have been using the cloud Photo Storage app, sadly, it’ll shut down soon. The app, powered by Asurion, currently allows AT&T customers on eligible plans to store unlimited photos and videos in the cloud. However, the company has announced that AT&T users have until February of 2026 to download and secure their data. Users failing to do so will lose their files permanently.

AT&T Photo Storage app will permanently shut down on February 1, 2026

If you’ve used the AT&T Photo Storage app, you must be aware of its benefits. First and foremost, the app doesn’t alter the quality of the media you’ve saved. Next, the cloud storage app allows users to set up automatic backups. This ensures that all the media saved to your device gallery is always backed up to AT&T’s cloud storage app. Now that the AT&T Photo Storage app is shutting down, it’s recommended to download all your data.

You have until February 1st of next year to download all your backed-up data from the app. Asurion has also shared a small guide to help users export their data seamlessly from the AT&T Photo Storage app before the shutdown deadline.

It’s worth noting that the AT&T Photo Storage app will stop backing up your data from October 20, 2025. That’s the same date when the company will remove it from the app stores like Google Play Store and App Store. So, if you’ve uninstalled the app but have your data backed up, time is running out for you.

AT&T has been making a lot of changes

Prior to announcing the shutdown of its Photo Storage app, the US, the carrier giant also ended support for the texting service. The company linked the discontinuation of the texting service with problems users were facing due to scammers. That’s not all; the company has recently unveiled a new tool to prevent SIM swap attacks. While the company is doing its bit to offer the best for its customers, the decision to shut down the cloud storage app might upset many of them.
