Samsung makes great flagship phones. In fact, its flagship phones take excellent photos and videos. But could it be improved? Definitely. According to a report from tipster UniverseIce, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra could get an upgraded camera. One that could address some of the complaints users have with the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Upgraded Galaxy S26 Ultra camera

Don’t get us wrong. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is easily one of the best phones of 2025. However, it does have some camera-related issues, namely with motion blur. This is usually a result of the camera taking too long to snap the photo. However, the tipster claims that Samsung could address this camera issue with the Galaxy S26 Ultra by equipping it with a new sensor and a wider aperture.

The tipster says the phone will use a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor alongside a lens with a wider aperture. Note that this is the same sensor used in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, combine it with a wider aperture, and it should help snap photos faster in low-light situations. For context, the Galaxy S25 Ultra has the same 200MP ISOCELL HP2 sensor. However, it has a f/1.7 aperture. The post doesn’t mention how much wider the new aperture will be. So, we’ll have to wait and see.

As for the other cameras, we’re hearing the phone will be accompanied by a 50MP ultrawide, a 12MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom.

What else can we expect?

In addition to a wider aperture lens, here’s what else we know about the Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to the recent rumors, the handset could feature a slightly larger 5,500mAh battery. It is also rumored to see an improvement in charging speeds, going from 45W to 65W.

There was also a report that suggests Samsung could use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. However, instead of the version made by TSMC, Samsung could use a variant made by its semiconductor division. We’re not sure if there is any significance to this. It is possible it could be “cheaper” for Samsung to source from within.

However, it is unclear if there is going to be a difference in terms of performance. In the past, Samsung has used an exclusive overclocked version of Qualcomm’s chipsets for its flagship phones.
