As some of you may know, Samsung officially rates the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s main display for up to 500,000 folds. That goes for ideal conditions, though. Well, someone on YouTube has decided to test that theory, to a degree. Someone from South Korea is actively folding the Galaxy Z Fold 7 on YouTube, and the goal is to get to 200,000 folds.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 folding marathon is live on YouTube
At the time of writing this article, the phone has been folded over 120,000 times. The person who is folding the device is currently not online, as the process cannot be completed in a day. However, he’ll get to it again soon… live. The video is embedded below.
The YouTuber wants to see if the phone will survive 200,000 folds. That’s still a far cry from 500,000 folds Samsung mentioned, but that was tested in ideal conditions, so… there you go. 200,000 folds is still… a lot.
He’s folding the phone by hand, as a regular user would
In case you’re wondering, yes, the YouTuber is doing it by hand, as a regular person would. This is a test that some of you will definitely be interested in, as it’s the best way to show its endurance.
The phone managed to survive 120,010 folds without a problem, so we’ll see how it does from this point on. He did test out the display several times during this journey, so far, to ensure that it’s working properly. So far, so good.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the company’s brand-new foldable. It’s a lot thinner and lighter than its predecessor, as it’s finally on the same playing field as the competitors from China. In fact, Samsung broke pre-order records with this phone.
