With Samsung’s new foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, sales may be beyond expectations, as per the latest reports coming from Korea. The new foldables may outsell their predecessor, which struggled last year. Meanwhile, there might be very little interest in the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, which is Samsung’s new low-cost foldable.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 reportedly witness double-digit growth

As per a report by The Elec, Samsung aims a production plan of around 2.4 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and 2.3 million units of the Galaxy Z Flip 7. This is a good 10% higher than the previous generation. The company may spike the numbers owing to the strong initial demand. Both models reportedly see a healthy “double-digit” growth, especially the Galaxy Z Fold 7. In comparison, the 2024 Samsung foldables struggled to find momentum.

On the other hand, Samsung is reportedly aiming for just 700,000 units of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. This is just 30% of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 models. Previous estimations for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE were at 1.6 million units. If this number is indeed true, Samsung has cut down its production plan by more than half. It’s possible the company already knows the FE model won’t find too many takers. At $899, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is being labeled as overpriced for what it offers.

Samsung’s first trifold device production prediction

The report says that Samsung is planning just 100,000 units for its first trifold, reportedly called the Galaxy Z TriFold. This isn’t surprising, considering it is a new form factor for the brand. It may very well be priced higher than the Galaxy Z Fold 7. There are reports that it could be available only in select regions, so it also makes sense to produce fewer units.
