Google Home to Finally Fix Its Major Issues, Company Confirms

There’s been a huge spike in reports from Google Home users recently regarding the poor Assistant experience. Multiple users have complained about problems with Google Home devices on Reddit and almost every corner of the web. So far, Google has ignored the complaints of users. However, a Google executive has finally acknowledged and apologized for the Google Home problems, also announcing that major improvements are coming soon.

Responding to users, Anish Kattukaran, Chief Product Officer of Google Home and Nest, posted an apology about Google Assistant’s issues on Google Home products. “Hey everyone, I want to acknowledge the recent feedback about Google Assistant’s reliability on our home devices. I sincerely apologize for what you’re experiencing and feeling!” Kattukaran said in the post.

Apart from acknowledging issues with Google Home devices, the executive also teased that “major improvements” are on the way. While the Google spokesperson didn’t provide an exact timeline, he mentioned they will have more to share in the fall. The company is working on a long-term fix, which will provide a more reliable Google Assistant on its smart home products.

If your Google Home product hasn’t been performing as intended for a while, then you are not the only one. Several users have reported for quite some time about the declining performance of Google Assistant on these smart home devices. There are users reporting issues ranging from misheard commands to delayed responses. Some people have said that their devices are executing the wrong actions or completely ignoring instructions.

The Google executive hasn’t provided any details about the upcoming “major improvements.” However, many suspect that these could include the much-awaited inclusion of Google Gemini on the company’s smart speakers. We can only speculate at the moment until Google shares more details.
