Last month, Google rolled out the Material 3 Expressive redesign for the Google Keep Android application. The new redesign arrived with a revamped search bar, icons, and more. The redesign didn’t exactly bring any new features, apart from an improved user interface. However, Google Keep is finally getting a much-awaited feature, which allows users to quickly sort their notes.

As reported by Android Authority, the new feature to sort notes is rolling out in version “5.25.302.02.90” of the Google Keep app. The new tool provides users with a much better way to organize their Google Keep notes. If you’ve received the new feature in the Google Keep app, you’ll find a button for it inside the search bar at the top of the main screen. You can recognize the icon by its two arrows: one pointing upwards and the other downwards.

Three different ways to organize your notes

Once you tap the new icon to sort notes in Google Keep, you’ll get three different options to choose from. These include “Custom”, “Date created”, and “Date modified”. The custom option allows you to manually drag the Google Keep notes in any order you want. While the date created entry shows notes in the order you created them, the date modified option shows the most recently edited notes at the top.

It’s worth mentioning that Google Keep always allowed users to manually rearrange their notes. Furthermore, the option to pin notes at the top has been available for a while. Notably, the new sort button will also arrange the notes in the Pinned section according to your chosen order.

That said, Google is rolling out the new feature as a server-side update in version 5.25 of the Google Keep app. The feature could take some time to reach all users.
