Google Nest users had previously expressed their dissatisfaction with the product, as it was getting unstable and buggy. The firm also neglected the issue at first; however, after the backlash, it assured the users that it is now actively working on a fix. Subsequently, a fix to one of the major “no video available” errors has been rolled out.
Google says the ‘No Video Available Error’ should now happen less often
‘No video available error’ was one of the most reported and irritating issues of the Google Nest devices. The Home app would deny viewing a recording, citing the ‘no video available’ error. It would give the same error even when trying to open a notification.
Google has now rolled out a new update that brings a potential fix to the issue. In the latest update of the Google Home, v3.35, the company assures its users that the ‘no video available’ error should happen less frequently now. It also adds that it worked to reduce the frequency of another common issue wherein users get the ‘camera unavailable’ error.
The issue is not fully fixed yet – user demands action
For reference, here is the changelog of the latest update:
- Reduced “no video available” errors: Camera users will see fewer cases where a recent video is not yet available for streaming.
- Camera stream reliability: Fixed an issue where turning a camera off and on during a live stream would result in a “Camera Unavailable” error, ensuring the stream recovers properly.
Yes, it is good to see that Google is finally working on the issues. And it is not keeping its mouth shut, unlike before. However, the issues are not fully fixed yet. The company has just reduced the probability of the error popping up again. It is as frustrating as it gets. The users are still in a hope that a complete fix will be provided soon.
