Just when you think tech companies can keep their upcoming devices under lock and key, the internet has a funny way of proving otherwise. Not that Google is any better at keeping secrets, though. Leaks have revealed plenty of key details about the upcoming Pixel 10 series. Now, what appears to be a prototype of the unannounced Google Pixel 10 Pro has just made an appearance in the wild, and images confirm key design details.

This isn’t a traditional leak from reliable tipsters. It comes from a listing on the Chinese auction website Goofish. Talk about unexpected places where you might find a leak like this.

Real-world images of a Google Pixel 10 Pro prototype

The images included in the Google Pixel 10 Pro listing don’t showcase it in its full glory. Instead, they offer a glimpse of the back and front of the device. Despite the blacked-out display, the surrounding bezels remain visible. These appear to be decently slimmed down, and like previous generations, they’ll likely be symmetrical. You can also expect the familiar hole-punch cutout for the front-facing camera, a design choice Google has stuck with for a few generations now.

One aspect where it’s clear that the Pixel 10 Pro in the images is a prototype is its rear area. See the patterns on the bottom half, below the logo? Well, don’t expect to see them on the final version of the handset. Companies like Google often use these patterns to identify pre-production devices. So, bad news for those who liked the look of those patterns.

Despite being a prototype, the device in the images appears quite close to the final version. This coincides with leaks related to its design. Reports have already warned of a handset quite similar to its predecessor. It could have a thinner and less protruding camera bar than the Pixel 9 Pro. However, that’s not noticeable in the listing image.

Interestingly, the seller also included an image of the phone’s alleged motherboard. Perhaps they thought this would lend more credibility to the listing.

Google will launch the Pixel 10 series in the coming months. These leaks only generate excitement among fans of Google’s mobile devices. However, it remains to be seen whether the apparent continuity and conservative approach of these future handsets will work in the market.
