HTC’s VIVE Eagle Smart Glasses Arrive with ZEISS Lenses & AI Power

HTC Corporation has introduced the lightweight VIVE Eagle AI glasses. The glasses are designed for everyday activities and allows for natural interaction through vision and voice. They can translate menus, capture moments, or take calls without needing a phone or looking at a screen. The VIVE Eagle glasses also pack a 12MP ultra-wide camera and HTC’s VIVE AI voice assistant.

Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 powers the HTC VIVE Eagle AI glasses

HTC’s VIVE Eagle glasses feature a minimal frame design with ZEISS sun lenses, ergonomically contoured temples, and adjustable nose pads. There’s an open-ear audio system that uses large drivers and virtual bass to offer spatial audio, although this doesn’t block ambient noise. The HTC VIVE AI voice assistant is compatible with OpenAI GPT and Google Gemini. You can use voice commands to take photos, record reminders, take notes, or receive dining recommendations.

The HTC VIVE Eagle AI glasses feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 tech at the core. There’s 4GB RAM and 32GB native storage. The smart glasses get an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. The wearable compatible with iOS 17.6 or Android 10 or above.

HTC VIVE Eagle offers up to 36 hours of standby

VIVE Eagle glasses get a 235mAh battery, boasting up to 36 hours of standby and around 4.5 hours of continuous music playback. The company notes that you can charge 50% of the battery in just 10 minutes via the magnetic fast charging system. It has LED lights for capturing photos or videos. HTC says all the user data is stored locally and is not used for AI model training. There’s AES-256 encryption to protect device data.

Price and availability

The HTC VIVE Eagle AI glasses cost NT$15,600, which translates to around USD $520. It comes in Berry, Coffee, Grey, and Black colors. The smart glasses will be exclusive to Taiwan, at least initially. Pre-orders are live until August 31st via 2020EYEhaus optical service locations and designated Taiwan Mobile OP Experience Stores. The sales will begin on September 1st, 2025.
