iPhone 17 Pro Dummy Leak Shows Huge Camera, Subtle Design Tweaks

We’ve all seen the leaked renders of the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro. Recently, there was a hands-on video of a dummy unit of the iPhone 17 Air. Now, thanks to new photos shared by Majin Bu Official, we have some hands-on images of the dummy unit of the iPhone 17 Pro. This should give us a good idea of what to expect.
iPhone 17 Pro hands-on photos
Right off the bat, the dummy unit looks more or less exactly like what we’ve seen in the leaked renders and CAD drawings. It shows off the new massive camera module on the back of the phone, as well as the slightly repositioned Apple logo. We have to say, while the renders didn’t really impress us with the new camera module, the iPhone 17 Pro hands-on photo of the dummy unit actually looks pretty good.
Also, since we’ve been looking a lot at photos and renders of the iPhone 17 Air, the Pro model looks absolutely thick by comparison. We don’t think it will be thicker than last year’s model. However, if you look at it side-by-side against the Air, it is positively huge. Also, we can’t tell if it’s just the dummy unit or the angle, but the volume rockers and Action Button look more flushed than the iPhone 16 Pro.
Either way, we’ll have to wait for the actual release to get a better idea.
Apple’s 2025 iPhone lineup
For those catching up, the iPhone 17 series this year will consist of four models. Apple will launch the base iPhone 17, the iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, instead of an iPhone 17 Plus, Apple is ditching that in favor of the iPhone 17 Air. This will be Apple’s thinnest iPhone to date.
It was initially assumed that the iPhone 17 Air would compromise on specs. However, based on the latest rumors, it’s starting to sound more Pro than we thought. For starters, the iPhone 17 Air will feature 12GB of RAM. This is the same amount as the Pro and Pro Max models.
It is also rumored to sport the A19 Pro chipset. This is the same chipset Apple plans to use in the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. This means that aside from the single camera setup, the rest of the phone should perform the same as its more expensive “Pro” siblings. That’s good news for those who have been considering the iPhone 17 Air, but were hoping that it would offer better value other than a slimmer design.
