Motorola could announce a new crystal-packing Razr smartphone. Yes, you read that right, crystals. What’s going on here? Well, Evan Blass just sent a rather interesting post on X, though a rather cryptic one.
Motorola is planning to launch a Razr foldable with crystals attached to it
The tipster simply wrote ‘RAZR-ovski: 5 August’. This may not mean much to a lot of you, so let me put things into context. The ‘Razr-ovski’ seems to be a word play by the tipster, combining a Motorola ‘Razr’ branding with the ‘Swarovski’ name.
Motorola has already announced earbuds that feature Swaroski crystals. That happened back in April, I’m talking about the Moto Buds Loop. The partnership is already there, so it’s not difficult to figure out what’s going on here.
The tipster did not share any additional details, so we’re not exactly sure which model is coming. Motorola announced both the Razr Ultra 2025 and Razr 2025 phones in April, alongside the aforementioned earbuds.
Chances are that this will be a new variant of the company’s ‘Ultra’ model
The ‘Ultra’ model is the flagship handset, while the Razr 2025 is a budget phone. Motorola could go either way with this one, though it would make more sense for the company to include crystals in the flagship model.
That phone is not only plenty powerful, but it looks sleek too. It has vegan leather on the back, which makes it less slippery than basically every flip phone foldable competitor out there.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite fuels this smartphone, Qualcomm’s most powerful chip. It includes up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage, not to mention that 68W wired and 30W wireless chargin gis supported. Both of its displays have a high refresh rate, while two 50-megapixel cameras sit on the back of the phone.
