Google is finally adopting UFS 4.0 flash storage, which has been in use by many companies for years and years. WinFuture just confirmed the news, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold will use UFS 4.0 flash storage.
Google will finally use UFS 4.0 storage, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold is getting it for sure
That almost certainly means that the rest of the Google Pixel 10 lineup will use the same, well, at least the other two ‘Pro’ models. As a reminder, the Pixel 9 series shipped with UFS 3.1 flash storage, and Google received a lot of criticism because of that.
Google has been using UFS 3.1 storage in Pixel phones since 2021. Even at that point, it was kind of outdated, and in the following years, that fact was even more true. Even mid-range phones tend to use UFS 4.0 these days.
UFS 4.0 is not only significantly faster and more power efficient than UFS 3.1, but it’s also more compact on top of that. It improves power efficiency by up to 46%. All in all, not only is it supposed to help with battery life, but it will also help with the general performance of the device.
The company’s new foldable will arrive in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options
The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold will arrive in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB variants, all of which will be UFS 4.0. Storage expansion will not be available, though, so keep that in mind. The storage variant you choose is the one you’ll be stuck with.
We did share the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold specs a while back, exclusively. WinFuture just followed up with an even more detailed look. This also confirms another piece of our exclusive info, that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be iP68 certified.
We will talk a lot more about the rest of the spec sheet in a separate article, but let’s go over the main info. The Google Tensor G5 will fuel the phone, while Google will include 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM here.
Two compelling displays will also be included, and Qi2 wireless charging too
An 8-inch foldable display will be included, along with a 6.4-inch cover panel. Both of those will be OLED panels with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. A 5,015mAh battery will also be included, and 30W wired charging will be supported. The phone will also support Qi2 wireless charging up to 15W.
A 48-megapixel main camera will be included on the back, along with a 10.5-megapixel ultrawide unit, and a 10.8-megapixel telephoto camera. Android 16 will ship out of the box.
