With the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 now official and the pre-orders available, you might be wondering what sort of colors Samsung is offering for its latest smartwatch. Samsung typically has offered a few color options of the standard Galaxy Watch model that it releases every year. However, this time around, Samsung is offering just two colors, and it’s keeping them a little more on the safe side, perhaps to appeal to a wider audience.

The Galaxy Watch 8 colors available are Graphite and Silver. These are both essentially some form of gray. If you prefer something on the lighter side, you have silver. If you want something a bit darker, you’ve got Graphite. Both look great, but everyone has their personal preferences. Both colors feature a sort of brushed metal look to them, which almost gives the watch case a kind of matte finish, though not completely. A bonus of this brushed metal look is that it should be a lot harder to see fingerprints and smudges on the watch case. That won’t stop them from showing up on the display, of course, but at least the case is likely to remain relatively clean.

The Galaxy Watch 8 embraces a thinner, lighter profile

Although the colors may not be as fun this year as they have been in past years, there is a silver lining or two to keep in mind. Firstly, there are more band color options than usual. Each official band from Samsung comes in five colors, and there are four different band choices. The Athelisure band, the Hybrid band, the Sport band, and the Fabric band. That gives you lots of style combinations to work with.

Second, the Galaxy Watch 8 is thinner and lighter than last year’s Galaxy Watch 7. For most people, this is going to translate to a more comfortable all-day wear. For some others, it will also mean a higher likelihood of wearing the watch to bed for sleep tracking purposes. Since it’s lighter weight and not as thick, it should be less noticeable on your wrist, whether you toss and turn or not.
