The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is now here, and yes, it did get a price increase, as many had feared. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 price is now $1,999 for the 256GB model. That does bring it back to the original price of the Galaxy Z Fold 2, which was the most expensive Galaxy Z Fold to date. Accounting for inflation, that would be worth about $2,407 in 2025. So it’s still cheaper.
The 512GB model should cost $2,119, and the 1TB model should cost $2,559. The good thing about the 1TB model is that it does come with more RAM, at 16GB this time around.
This price increase comes after last year’s price increase for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Is the Galaxy Z Fold 7 worth the price increase?
Of course, the big question is whether it is worth the price increase this year. I think it is. There’s a lot of change for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 this year, compared to previous years. Of course, the biggest change is going to be that thinness.
This year, Samsung finally made a huge jump in the thinness of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. It now measures in at about 4.2mm thick when unfolded, and around 8.9mm when folded. That puts it on par with the OPPO Find N5, but just a tad thicker than the new HONOR Magic V5 that was announced last week at 4.1mm and 8.8mm respectively.
Additionally, Samsung has also made the front display much wider this year, so that it is more like having a regular slab phone when closed, and then a larger display when you unfold the phone.
Samsung will sell the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in three colors: Blue Shadow, Silver Shadow, and Jet Black. With a Samsung.com exclusive color, which is Mint. Pre-orders opened on July 9, with devices shipping by July 25.
