Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Renders Show Slimmer Design, Bigger Displays

Back in February, we exclusively posted CAD renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, thanks to Onleaks. Today, we are able to show you some “official” renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 in the Blue Shadow and Jet Black colorways. Obviously, Samsung will also offer the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in additional colors; however, these are the only two colors we have today.
One of the first things we noticed with these renders is just how thin it is. Now, we’ve seen reports of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 being anywhere from 3.9mm to 4.5mm thin when unfolded. We do have a hard time believing the 3.9mm rumor, since OPPO was barely able to fit the USB-C port on the 4.2mm Find N5.

When you put the Galaxy Z Fold 7 side-by-side with the Galaxy Z Fold 6’s hinge, you can see the pretty massive difference here. This should also help cut down on the weight a bit. Rumors have pointed to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 weighing in at about 215g. Which, if that is true, that would make it about 24g lighter than Galaxy Z Fold 6, and 14g lighter than the thinnest foldable available right now – OPPO Find N5.
Samsung’s making the cover display wider, again
Ever since the very first Galaxy Fold was released back in 2019, Samsung has continued to make the outer display or cover display a bit wider with each generation. And this year, it seems like it might actually have a normal aspect ratio. It’s expected to be 6.5-inches, versus the 6.3-inches on the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Since the cover display is larger, that also means the inner display is going to be larger. It’ll be 8.2 inches apparently, which would make it the largest screen on a foldable. Beating out the OPPO Find N5 at 8.12-inches, the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold at 8-inches, and the HONOR Magic V3 at 7.92-inches.
When will Samsung announce the Galaxy Z Fold 7?
Samsung will announce the Galaxy Z Fold 7 at its Summer Unpacked event, which we expect to take place around July 9. We’ve seen countless rumors stating July 9 as the date, as well as it happening in New York City. This would mean that we’re less than three weeks away from the unveiling.
Last year, Samsung did raise the price on the Galaxy Z Fold 6, so we’re not expecting one this year. However, with the economic uncertainty and the tariffs, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see the Galaxy Z Fold 7 go up in price again.
