The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is now official, and it has the largest screens Samsung has ever put on a foldable. Thankfully, this year Samsung finally made that cover display wider, giving it a 21:9 aspect ratio, so it no longer feels like a TV remote in your hand.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 screen size is 6.5-inches at a 21:9 aspect ratio on the front, and an 8-inch inner display. Both of these displays are Adaptive Refresh Rate from 1Hz to 120Hz.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has also grown in its dimensions, though it is also much thinner now. When folded, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 measures in at 72.8 x 158.4 x 8.9mm. And when unfolded, it is 143.2 x 158.4 x 4.2mm, weighing just 215g. That’s quite light for a foldable, and it’s one of the lightest foldables on the market. Having shed about 24g from the Galaxy Z Fold 6. And it’s also 2g lighter than the HONOR Magic V5, which is the current thinnest foldable in the world.

Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with the latest flagship specs

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 does come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy powering it. That’s an overclocked chipset, running at a max speed of 4.47GHz. It also has 12GB of RAM with 256GB or 512GB of storage. Or 16GB of RAM with 1TB of storage.

Samsung was also able to keep the same size battery as last year, at 4,400mAh. Though if Samsung had gone with Silicon-Carbon for its batteries, they could have included a much larger battery, like the OPPO Find N5’s 5,600mAh battery.

Pre-orders are open today, through July 24, with the official Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 release date being July 25. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 did get a price increase this year, now with an MSRP of $1,999. That does bring it back to the same price as the Galaxy Z Fold 2 from 2020.
