Samsung’s Galaxy A56 Just Landed in the US — And It’s Shockingly Good for $499

Samsung has finally made the Galaxy A56 available in the US. It went on sale today at Samsung’s website, as well as other retailers like Amazon and Best Buy. This is Samsung’s best mid-range smartphone, and it starts at $499.
Internally, the Galaxy A56 sports the Exynos 1580 chipset, with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. That’s powered by a 5,000mAh capacity battery that does support 45W charging, which is a bit surprising since the $2,000 Galaxy Z Fold 7 does not.
It also has a pretty good-looking 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. There’s a triple-camera setup on the Galaxy A56, including a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide, and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. With a 12-megapixel front-facing camera for those selfies.
Samsung is shipping the Galaxy A56 with One UI 7, based on Android 15. So it doesn’t quite have the latest software, compared to the new Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. But this device was announced back in March along with the Galaxy A26 and Galaxy A36. The Galaxy A56 will get seven years of updates, however.
Best value for under $500?
Typically, Samsung’s Galaxy A devices aren’t that great of a value, especially the Galaxy A5x series. However, this year, the Galaxy A56 is a pretty good value. Especially when you compare it to the Google Pixel 9a which is also $499, or the Apple iPhone 16e which is even more expensive at $599.
If you’re in the market for a new phone, but don’t want to spend a ton on something new, the Galaxy A56 is a really good option for you to consider. Circle to Search and Object Eraser, you also get Best Face which is exclusive to the Galaxy A56. Best Face is a feature that makes it easier than ever to snap group shots.
