When it comes to iPhone colors, Apple usually offers different colors for the different models. For the base iPhone and Plus models, Apple typically uses brighter and more “fun” colors. However, with the Pro and Pro Max models, Apple goes for something more “serious.” But with the upcoming iPhone 17 Air, Apple seems to be going for colors that are somewhere in the middle.
iPhone 17 Air color options revealed
According to a recent post and renders shared by tipster Majin Bu Official, the iPhone 17 Air will be available in four colors. This includes black, which we saw in a recently leaked hands-on video. Then there is a silver finish, which the tipster describes as being “clean and sophisticated.”
As for the other two slightly more colorful options for the iPhone 17 Air, there’s a “light gold” finish and a “light blue” finish. The tipster’s sources described it as looking “fresh and modern” while evoking the look of a “clear sky.” We have to say that these colors are definitely a middle ground for Apple.

They aren’t necessarily bright or pop-worthy enough to be used in the base iPhone model, but they are still too bright for the Pro and Pro Max models. But note that the image above is a render. We’re not sure what it will look like in real life, so we’ll have to wait and see. However, as Majin Bu notes, the colors are supposed to help Apple emphasize the thinness of the phones. Using darker colors could hide that, which is why Apple went with something softer.
Could be better than we thought
Now, everything we heard about the iPhone 17 Air makes it sound like it could be an expensive phone without the specs to match. Poor battery life and a singular camera setup are some of the rumors we’ve heard so far. However, that could change.
There was a recent post on Weibo by Fixed Focus Digital that claims the iPhone 17 Air could come with 12GB of RAM. This matches the RAM Apple plans to use in the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models. Furthermore, the phone could be powered by the A19 Pro. This is the same chipset used in the Pro and Pro Max iPhones.
This suggests that while Apple could compromise on battery life and cameras, it could still be a pretty powerful device. Either way, we will find out soon enough when Apple makes it official this September.
