The Motorola Razr Gets the Swarovski Treatment Again — Subtlety Be Damned

Motorola has just started teasing a new collaboration for its Razr and Buds Loop, which we actually saw leak last week. It’s actually not a new collaboration so to speak, but an extension of one.

When Motorola announced the Razr 2025 family a couple of months ago, it also announced the Moto Buds Loop with Swarvoski crystals embedded in the earbuds. I actually have these earbuds now and have been using them for the past few days, and they’re surprisingly very comfortable. Now, Motorola appears to be expanding this partnership with “Collections” Crystals by Swarovski.

Last week, we did see that there is a new Razr for this partnership, as well as a new pair of the Buds Loop in a different color. It looks to be a sort of baby blue color.

Motorola will release more details on August 5

Motorola says that it will be announcing “something brilliant” on August 5. So we don’t have many details on these new releases just yet, but that’s only a few weeks away.

This continues Motorola’s move to release more interesting and unique-looking devices over the past few years. Back in April, during a briefing, Motorola said that the majority of the phones they sold last year were not neutral colors like black, white, and gray. Showing that its customers really like the different materials and colors, on devices like the Moto G and Razr. It really shows that Motorola’s partnership with Pantone, Bose, and now Swarovski is very beneficial for them as well as for Motorola.

This is likely going to be the usual mid-cycle refresh that a lot of companies do, with new colors to boost sales. Though the Razr 2025 series only went on sale a couple of months ago, it seems pretty early for that. However, this would get the Razr back into people’s minds for the Fall crop of smartphone releases, like the Pixel 10 series and iPhone 17 series.
