Your Samsung Galaxy S22 Just Got Safer—June 2025 Security Update Is Here

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is now getting the June 2025 Android security update. That includes the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra, of course.

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is now getting the Android security patch for June 2025

These three-year-old flagship smartphone series follows its newer siblings to reach this update. The update started to roll out in Samsung’s homeland, Korea, first. However, it will spread to other markets really fast, if it hasn’t already. Once Samsung starts the rollout, it quickly spreads across the globe.

As a reminder, Google issued 18 security fixes for Android with the June 2025 Android security update. Samsung added 19 of its own fixes on top of that. That means that you’ll be getting 37 fixes in general.

There are no additional new features included here or anything of the sort. This update is all about security fixes. It is still based on Android 15 with One UI 7.0, of course.

Your phone will let you know once the update is available, as per usual. You can manually check if you want, though. That could speed up the process a bit, but you won’t be able to get it until it starts to roll out in your region.

You’ll have to be patient, the update is rolling out in stages

Once that happens, the company will roll out the update in stages. That’s the case with every update for the company’s devices (the same goes for other companies), so you’ll need to be a bit patient.

This is not a huge update by any means, so there’s no rush to get it, really. You probably won’t even notice any differences once you install it.

Do note that the Galaxy S22 series will also be getting the Android 16 update with One UI 8.0 on top of it. That will be the last major Android OS update that the phones will get.
