YouTube Music Gets a Killer Upgrade with Cross-Device Resume Playback
July 21, 2025 | by Admin

YouTube Music is one of the most popular and mainstream music players worldwide. Some users have even rated it above Spotify because of better music quality and regional auto-play support. The platform is now getting even better as YouTube has added a new playback sync feature that allows the user to resume playback from any of their synced devices.
YouTube Music gets better with the resume playback feature
Google has rolled out a new update to its popular music streaming platform, YouTube Music. The latest build of the YouTube Music app, with version 826.51, brings a new resume playback feature. This feature allows the user to resume the track from any of the logged-in devices (with the same account).
This is easily one of the most convenient features, where you can resume the playback from any of your synced devices. You don’t have to remember the track and the timestamp anymore. This was one of the most important features that was missing from YouTube Music for a long time, but we finally have it now.
Users can now resume playback on PCs, phones, and tablets
Another interesting thing about the newly added feature is that it supports multiple-track sync. This means that not only will the currently playing song be synced, but all past songs that weren’t finished will be synced as well.
The update brings a nice addition to the Speed Dial. You will be able to see the progress bar beneath the songs on the home screen. Clicking on it will resume the playback from wherever it was left. However, it is not yet as advanced as Spotify’s cross-platform sync feature, where you can even control your mobile phone directly from your PC or vice versa. But it is surely a nice addition as it at least allows the passive control over your playlist.
